Andrew Mittelman is an audio engineer with the rare combination of talent and experience in music, technology, and performance. In 2005, he launched Sound Generation, a world-class studio, to collaborate with the leading producers in music, audio, and video.

Andrew began his musical career as a session guitarist playing funk, reggae, and pop in the New York music and recording scene of the early 90’s. In the pursuit of musical excellence, Andrew attended Mannes College The New School of Music where he received a conservatory training, which included classical theory and composition, ear training, and ensemble performance. From Reggie Workman, Peter Bernstein and Rodney Jones, he learned jazz improvisation and accompaniment.

After training and working at Westrax Recording Studios as an engineer, Andrew developed an innovative method of multi-track digital live recording and mixing for cutting edge musicians like Shiner Massive, William Parker, and Dave Sewelson.

Andrew’s commercial clients have included The New York Times, Sony Records, Koch Records, Slash Records, Relapse Records and Vendetta Records.

Musical sensibility, technological savvy, and attention to detail make Andrew one of the best audio engineers in New York City.
